IPL Hair Removal is just that - a long term hair removal service to effectively treat virtually any part of your body in reducing hair growth. We use the UltraLUX with IPL (Intense Pulse Light) to achieve optimum results treating bigger area's per pulse. A thorough consultation prior to your treating appointment will be carried out as each individual treatment plan is different and results vary. 6-12 treatments can be expected to achieve desired results for a lifetime of smooth, silky skin! (With maintenance treatments in between)

Pre Hair Removal Treatment Information 

Do not wax, pluck, use depilatory creams or undertake any electrolysis for 4 weeks prior to, and in between your treatments at The Skin Room Geelong
Do not use prescription strength exfoliant creams (Retinoids and Alpha Hydroxy) on the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior 

Do not shave for up to 2 weeks prior to your first treatment. Please shave the night before
Avoid tanning, including self tanners, tanning beds or sun exposure for 4 weeks prior to and in between your IPL treatments at The Skin Room Geelong. 

A sunscreen greater than SPF 30+ should be used on any area of skin you plan to treat 

Post Hair Removal Treatment Information 

A mild sunburn like sensation after treatment is normal, this usually goes down within 3-4 hours of treatment but may be evident for up to 2 days after treatment. Apply an ice pack or Aloe Vera gel every hour for 5-10 minutes to sooth the skin. Continue this until symptoms subside
Redness and bumps after treatment are normal, they will subside in 1-3 days
Avoid any sun exposure to treated areas and apply a sunscreen greater than SPF 30+ during treatment and 4-6 weeks after your last treatment
Bathe as usual, treated areas may be temperature sensitive so colder water may be appropriate, avoid use of strongly scented lotions or soaps. Don’t aggressively scrub the area during healing time, gentle and soft products and cleansing only
Allow blistered or open areas to heal naturally, if healing is delayed do not pick these areas but do apply cold packs and a thin coat of antibiotic ointment if this does occur Appearance of ‘stubble’ may be evident in 1-4 weeks, this is not hair regrowth it is purely the remnant of treated hairs being expelled from the damaged hair follicle. Allow hairs to fall out on their own, do not pick, tweeze or wax. You may shave during this period
Do not fake tan for 7 days after your IPL treatment
Best results are obtained on clients who have follow up treatments after their hairs start to regrow, treatments are best booked in packages and pre booking is essential to ensure you maximise your results by following your treatment plan
